Jesse Tuft

Jesse worked in window and door research and development for seven years with lots of experience doing site visits and site testing for multifamily buildings. For the past four years he’s been working with ReNü Engineering and Butterwick Projects on Deep Energy Retrofits managing the panelized retrofit of the Sundance Housing Co-op and several single-family homes. 

Currently his work involves energy modeling and deep retrofit design for multifamily projects to enable large energy efficiency upgrades. ReNu has extensive real world experience and knows the challenges of performing retrofits on occupied units. Their energy modeling and construction expertise helps to design retrofits that work as a system to maximize comfort, energy and GHG savings and overall building resilience. 

A focus for Jesse is heat recovery ventilation retrofits, which are challenging, but have very large energy and cost savings potential, as well as air quality benefits. Multifamily buildings can expend 40-70% of their heating energy on fresh air and HRVs can save up to 90% of this.
